Barred Owl is Patti’s creamery and catering business. When we started farming, it was simply how we wanted to live our lives and was not necessarily a business decision. However, as Patti has improved as a farmer she has also learned other skills in order to utilize the goat and sheep’s milk and the other farm products. Patti spent a long time deliberating over a name for her budding company. When she noticed all the barred owls in the backyard and heard their call (hoocooksforyou! hoocooksforyou!), she took it as a sign. Thus, Barred Owl Creamery and Catering was born, and though it is still in the early stages of development, we are excited about the possibilities of sharing our farm’s products with the community.
